Pre-game clinic and autograph session 5:45 pm
The Winnipeg Police Allstars Slow Pitch Team will be facing the CFL Alumni Allstars on Tuesday July 13 at 7:00 PM. The game has returned to Canwest Park, an outstanding minor league baseball stadium located in downtown Winnipeg and home to the Goldeyes. Funds raised go to support KidSport Manitoba, a charity that helps remove barriers and assists less fortunate children participate in sportso all kids can play!
The CFL Allstars line-up will include several former Winnipeg Blue Bombers and CFL Hall-of-Famers such as Joe Poplawski, James Murphy, Bob Cameron, Willard Reaves, Glen Scrivener, Terry Evanshen, Willie Pless, Winnipeg Jets star Thomas Steen, Jimmy Mann, and others. This is the 19th year the WPS Allstars will participate in this game. To date more than $75,000 has been raised for KidSport and other charities.
A great evening of entertainment has been put together to make this a fun-filled event for the entire family. This includes:
- Player autographs & Football Skills Clinic between 5:45 PM and 6:30 PM hosted by the CFL Allstars & Premier Football Factory of Winnipeg
- The Winnipeg Blue Bomber's Blue Lightning Dance Team
- Winnipeg Police Mascot Copper
- Bomber mascots Buzz & Boomer
- Interactive sport displays by Sport Manitoba
- On-field candy scramble for the kids
- Numerous prize giveaways
- 50/50 draw in support of KidSport
- The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) Pipe Band, WPS Community Relations Caravan, and the WPS Mounted Patrol (horseback)
- A demonstration by the Winnipeg Police K-9 Unit
- A variety of entertainment & contests between innings
This year's game promises to be bigger and better than ever!
Tickets are $15.00 each or a family pack of 4 for $45.00. Children under 2 are free. All proceeds from the sale of game programs and 50/50 tickets go directly to KidSport Manitoba.
