Fort McMurray Firefighters vs CFL Alumni Allstars

Fort McMurray, AB— CFL Hall of Famers Rocco Romano, Willie Pless, Herm Harrison & Terry Evanshen along with Jackie Kellogg & Pee Wee Smith will take to the diamond to play the Fort McMurray Firefighters Slowpitch Team for the Annual Celebrity Slow Pitch Challenge 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at McDonald Island Park. Now in our 9th season, the Celebrity Slow Pitch Challenge is touring Alberta in aid of local charities. As they circle the bases, the CFL Alumni Allstars will be raising funds for worthy local charities. A portion of the proceeds raised will go to Fort McMurray Firefighters Local 2494 Charity Fund. In fact, over the past 18 years, the Celebrity Slow Pitch and Allstars Baseball tours have raised more than $1.6 million for charitable organizations across the country. It's a record we’re all proud of!Expect to see past CFL football greats and local guest players taking to the diamond to play a spirited game of softball combined with fun, antics and tomfoolery. Add to the fun the hilarious Fire Trucks, Crazy Claude—the Happy Trumpeter, kids contests and give-aways, this friendly match-up is sure to be a winner for the entire family. We invite you to join the tens of thousands of fans and families who continue to cheer on their local team as well as the CFL Alumni Allstars players.
